How to Choose Theme Accessories for Your Bathroom
It is true to say that the majority of folks consider their bathroom to be very little more than a room full of tile together with shiny fixtures and fittings. You can opt to paint a conventional white, and accentuate with color using various decorating accessories like framed prints, shells, baskets, rug throws, and window treatments to name but a few.
Warm reddish-brown shade of paint or wallpaper work really well with plants in the bathroom. But, choose plants that like steamy warm conditions, and that can stand the different chemical substances. Many plants just cannot take the gel, hairspray, and perfumes that are used on a regular basis in a bathroom. It will gum up the plants leaves and they will end up in your trash can. If your bathroom is big enough, you can hang plants from the ceiling, or arrange them on the back of the toilet. Large garden style bathtubs have enough space on the rim of the tub to put miniature plants, and along with bath soaps and baskets, they look stunning.
Another important aspect when decorating your bathroom are the towels and rugs. Deep plush or hand woven rugs bring a touch of elegance. However, take care when putting rugs on slippery bathroom vinyl flooring because a nasty fall can be a consequence. Look for rugs that have a rubber or non slip backing to prevent falls. You can coordinate the rugs with the bathroom mat in alternating or matching colors too. Using different textures that match your theme will give the bathroom a little extra feeling of warmth. Never think you are limited on textures since when they are mixed with a neutral backdrop, they make a bathroom homey and inviting to be in.
You can jazz up your bathroom with ornamental towel racks and colorful towels too. Towel racks are available in all manner of finishes including wood, bronze, silver and gold. If you want to match existing baskets and picture frames, you can paint or stain wooden racks in whatever color or shade you want.
Good, functional bathroom lighting is important too. The first consideration is for safety of course, but when the room is not being used, night lights can be left on and your cabinet tops could be used for a small lamp. Lamps can match your theme and so can your nightlights. You can decorate them, or purchase them already arranged with your theme. Naturally, this all depends if you have enough counter space, but it is a great decorating idea for a theme.

You may well discover great themes that you did not even know existed. It is your little corner of the world, so be as unique as you want when adorning your home bathroom
